Do the thing

It's in our intrinsic nature to avoid pain.

And doing hard things is painful in a way. Solving dificult problems, taking decisions, going to the gym, increasing the weight on the bar, putting ourselves in uncomfortable situations, making choices etc. Coping with such situations requires huge mental, phycical, emotional, intellectual (or a mix of some) resources to be exercised to the edge of their full potential. The thing is our bodies and minds prefer to play it safe and pick something more fun and enjoyable.

It's up to you to make it pick the right (most often the difficult) choice. To do it, you have to be constantly monitoring yourself and asking one quite simple question. Remember, it is very important to be honest with yourself.

Are you doing what you must be doing in order progress on the task at hand, or are you fooling yourself with insignificant work and excuses?

See, the theory behind being productive is dead simple. It's all about the way you fill the time gap between your current state and your future state.

😎  --- [ time gap ] ---> 💪
 ∟ This is you. ∟ This is your goal

Are you doing this:

😎 --- [ 🎯 ] ---> 💪
         ∟ Actual work that produces results

Or you're doing this

😎 --- [  ] ---> ooops, no time ⏳ for actual work, tomorrow is a new day 😵
         ∟ some random activity 🌈
         ∟ some meta-work (improvemnts on the process of doing actual work) 🎛
         ∟ some YouTube/Facebook/Instagram 💬
         ∟ some more meta-work 🎛
         ∟ comming up with excuses no to do any work 💅

There's only one reason you're not seeing results. You're relying on a broken process. Instead of doing the actual hard work, which requires sweat and tears, you're fooling yourself that tomorrow is a new great day and today was "kinda" productive, you know..."I did some stuff here and there".

Progress is boring. It's painful, because you're growing. Do the work and stop fooling yourself with excuses. Stop reading theories, stop looking for inspiration. There's work to be done. Fill the gap with significant, meaningful effort.
